The latest edition of the Volkswagen Atlas opens up a lot of possibilities for families around Clifton and Wayne NJ. The new Atlas can be configured to provide seating for five or as many as seven people. The new VW Atlas is just a little bigger than rivals like the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot. That exterior size translates into extra room for your family and extra space for their cargo. Your road trips will never be the same.
Performance in the new VW Atlas
The new Volkswagen Atlas lets you choose either a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V6 with 276 horsepower. Both engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard equipment. But all-wheel drive is an available upgrade for buyers from communities like Montclair and Fair Lawn, NJ.
Cargo and passenger space
The Volkswagen Atlas for 2023 has 20.6 cubic feet in the rear cargo area. That beats both Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot. The VW Atlas is also more generous with legroom in the third row: 33.7 inches for the Atlas vs. 31.9 inches for the Honda Pilot and even less for the Toyota Highlander. Finally, the new VW Atlas has more back seat headroom than either the Highlander or the Pilot and two more inches of front seat headroom.
