Prepare for the Coming Winter at Gensinger Motors, Inc.

550 × 350

While the first day of winter may not officially arrive for another month or so, we're already starting to feel the effects of the season here at our dealership. Between flurries of snow and frigid temperatures, it's clear that winter is well on its way. Whether this knowledge is a source of delight or dismay for you, there's no denying that winter service is a must to help you and your Volkswagen make it through to spring as smoothly as possible.

Luckily, winterizing your Volkswagen is among our many specialties here at our Volkswagen service center. If you're gearing up to get your car in shape for winter, we have a few winter car care tips to help you prepare.

Volkswagen Winter Car Care Tips

Winter Tires

What makes winter tires special? Unlike all-season or summer tires, winter tires are made of a special rubber compound that is specifically made to be more flexible in cold weather, making it easier for winter tires to gain traction. They also have unique tread patterns that are wider and deeper -- perfect for powering through snow and slush. If you need a set of winter tires, we can help you find the right fit.

Battery Check

Plummeting temperatures don't do any part of your car any favors, but if your battery is too weak, you might find yourself stuck in the cold with a car that won't start. We can inspect your battery, perform voltage tests, and more to make sure your battery is strong enough to get through winter before you find out the hard way that it isn't.

Windshield Wipers and Washer Fluid

Always make sure that your wipers are in good shape and free of damage. You'll need them when winter weather takes a turn for the worse and your visibility is compromised. While you're at it, be sure to replenish your car's washer fluid reservoir.

If you're ready to set a service appointment, we invite you to check out our service specials ahead of time and visit our dealership to learn more about winterizing your vehicle!
